THE WRITERS

WENDY NEWTON is a published author and freelance writer with over 17 years experience in cultural and community development, marketing communications, media and training within corporate, local government and arts environments. Wendy is the Senior Vice President of Junction Arts Festival Inc. and is a member of Arts Tasmania's Tasmanian Book Prize Committee, Arts Tasmania's Cultural Tourism - Peer review panel (literature), and Arts Tasmania's Assistance to Organisations Grants Committee. 

LUCY WILSON is an accomplished artist, teacher and producer with a Graduate Diploma in Animateuring at the Victorian College of the Arts where she was the recipient of the Barbara Manning Scholarship and BA (Media Studies) from RMIT. Lucy is based in Southern Tasmania. 

GAI ANDERSON has a long and eclectic background as a performing artist, working as a writer, performer and producer of a wide range of theatre and community based projects and events. Based in Cygnet Tasmania, Gai has written plays for stage, radio and puppetry as well as writing regularly as a reviewer. 

ANNELIESE MILK  writes short stories and was included in the anthology of young Tasmanian writers, I Sleep in Haysheds and CornersShe is now based in Melbourne where she is completing her Master of Art Curatorship at the University of Melbourne.

BEN WALTER wrote for WriteResponse up until October 1012. Ben is a committed writer who has had poetry, fiction and reviews published in Famous Reporter, Island, OverlandIslet, Voiceworks, Cordite, Kalimatand a range of smaller publications. He is also a regular book reviewer for The Sunday Tasmanian. 

KYLIE EASTLEY is a published writer with an eclectic background in media, community development and the arts. She works as an arts agent, freelance writer and arts consultant across Tasmania, while undertaking roles with a number of arts organisations including Tasmanian Regional Arts. Kylie was recently invited to join the Tasmanian Writers Centre Board.

STEPHENIE CAHALAN writes about the arts, culture and the environment. She is a regular contributor to Art Monthly Australia and her articles on marine mammal research and Antarctic science have been published in Australia and internationally. Stephenie currently works as the communications co-ordinator at the Tasmanian land Conservancy.

ANICA BOULANGER-MASHBERG was one of the founding members of WriteResponse and wrote reviews up until November 2012. While she continues to support and edit for the blog, Anica has moved to Brisbane to take up new and exciting opportunities.

PATRICK SUTCZAK is a published writer, visual artist, and emerging curator based in Launceston. He works in the commercial gallery sector as well as tutoring in contemporary art theory at the Tasmanian College of the Arts where he is also undertaking a Higher Degree by Research. Patrick is the Vice-President of the Sawtooth ARI Committee and is actively involved in the Tasmanian arts community.

ROSE KILLALEA is courage, passion, freedom and adventure. Rose used to be a wife, public servant, overweight, unhappy, and caught in the mortage trap. A transformation, a tipping point, occured at age 45 and she rediscovered herself and her passion for living. Rose got fit, got divorced, got travelling, and got going on the ride of her life. Rose now works as a volunteer with Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), and is currently based in Pakistan.

THOMAS CONNELLY lives in Dodges Ferry with his partner of 13 years and 3/4 of their children. While not being involved in dad activities or studying classics at university Thomas lists as his hobbies, being pretentious and heckling right-wingers on social media.
